Meet our staff

Dell Kay Bertino, DVM
I was born and raised in Montana and am a 1992 graduate Oregon/Washington State University. After graduation, I wanted to be a large animal veterinarian and was in a mixed practice for 6 years. My goals changed after I realized how rewarding pets are. I then joined the Moore Lane staff before starting at Shiloh. I love surgery and have tried to excel in that area. I am married to Jason McDonald, a lineman for the rural electric coop. We have 2 cats, OE and HC, 2 dogs, Nick, a Jack Russell with a liver shunt, Sadie, my husband’s bird dog, 1 cockatiel, Joey, and 2 horses Crow and Socks. I enjoy riding horses, boating, golfing and snowmobiling; being outdoors basically.

Marci Cook, DVM
Marci is originally from Billings and is a 1995 graduate of Colorado State University. She is married to Rip, who works as a director/producer for Max Media during football season and Northwestern Video Livestock Auction during the off season. They have a son, Adrian, who is a big animal lover. Marci has developed special interests in ultrasound, especially cardiology, and internal medicine. She has 2 dogs, Otter and Badger, and 3 cats, Weasel, Skunk and Mr. Handsome. Her outside interests include TV sport graphics, horseback riding, hiking and backpacking.


 

Bella lived out her days with us and is now in kitty heaven.

 

Amber Roney CVT, Office Manager
Amber was born and raised in Washington State. She moved to Montana in 2006. She graduated from Portland Community College in 2000 where she received her Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She also has an Associate degree from Clark Community. Amber has been with Shiloh as a Certified Veterinary Technician and lead tech and is now become the office manager. She lives with her husband, daughter, 2 horses, 1 dog and 3 cats. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, camping, and spending time with her family (the 2 and 4 legged type).

Receptionists:

Debbie Thornton
I am originally from Boulder, Co. I moved to Billings with my family June 07. I started working here in August 07 as a kennel attendant and am now a receptionist. I have endless love and passion for animals, and have always wanted to work with them. I am grateful that I now have the opportunity to work around animals’ everyday. I am the proud owner of two pugs, Lottus Marie and Ryley Ottis.

Jasmine Austin
Jasmine is a true Montanan at heart, born and raised in Billings .  She has a beautiful 3 year old baby boy who is her pride and joy.  She is an aspiring med school student hoping to one day practice family medicine.  She loves animals and currently has 3 pets.  One is her big fat orange tabby cat, the other is her tri-pod black lab mix who she rescued from the animal shelter, and her newest addition is a sweet mutt girl who was brought to Shiloh as a stray.  She is not only excited but extremely honored to be part of the SVH team. 

Lindsay Serfazo
I have grown up on my family’s ranch in Silesia, Mt. Animals are my passion and I enjoy caring for them. I have an associate’s degree in animal science. I have 2 dogs, Mattie and Chico and 2 cats Jake and Luke. I love camping, hunting and fishing in my spare time. I also take my horse trail riding all the time.

Brittany Knudtzon
Brittany is from Seattle Washington. She moved to Billings to attend Rocky Mountain College where she is working toward her BA in Biology. Her dream is to become a Veterinarian. In Brittany’s free time she enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her boxer.

Lauren Pokora
Lauren moved to Billings in July 2009 to be with her future husband Denn. She is very happy to be here. Denn and Lauren are expecting their first baby girl (Willow Gracie) in July! Having worked at 2 veterinary hospitals and the Denver Zoo, she has great passion for working with animals. We are very excited to have Lauren as a part of our team. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, gymnastics, camping and taking her dog Kaia to the dog park. Lauren has two parakeets (Midori and Stormie) and two lizards (Merlin and Skinkerbell)

Technicians

Mikki Cook, LVT
Relief veterinary technician with over 16 yrs of experience. Graduate of NDSU, Fargo, ND. Experience in animal disaster relief (DART), assisted with Katrina efforts, land rescue, trap and transport. Pending NVRT - DHHS. Special interests in senior patients and patients with special needs. Married to husband Don for 21years, they have 5 dogs (one rescued from hurricane Katrina), barn cats, 2 horses and 1 mule. She enjoys scuba diving, motorcycle riding (owns a low rider) and horseback riding.

Tech Assistants

Alicia Cowen
Born in Plains, MT, graduate of Montana State University-Bozeman (Go Cats) with a BS in Animal Science. She lives with her husband along with their zoo consisting of, 1 dog, Dolly, 2 cats, Boston and Simon, 2 birds, and chinchilla, Dusty. She enjoys outdoor activities with her dog such as hiking and horseback riding and taking pictures. She also loves to play tennis during the summer. Alicia is currently taking vet tech courses to become a certified technician.

Bobbi Jo Massic
Bobbi is currently in vet school and we are all hoping she will come back here!

Britni 
She has worked at a couple different vet hospitals with duties from kennel attendant to tech assistant. Hobbies include softball, shooting and horses. She has 2 cats Mama Cat and Dizzy and 2 dogs Bo and Goon.

Arial Harper
Arial Harper has been with SVH since 2005. She started as a kennel attendant, moved to reception and is now an assistant. She has an interest in behavior and has started puppy classes here. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a Certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator, is active in the Big Sky Sighthound Association and competing with her dogs in a variety of events.

Jackie Buckmiller
Hello, my name is Jackie! I love to help animals, smile and enjoy all aspects of life. I grew up on a farm where I learned to do chores at an early age. I also took care of all of our farm animals. I have two cute nephews and enjoy spending time with my family. My hobbies include mini-golf, hiking, fishing, shopping, and bowling. I have 3 pets – Honey Bear, Panda and Thunder.

 

Robyn is a lovebird that was donated to us.

 

Kennel Attendants

Andy Hilario
Andy has worked for SVH since 2003. He is a retired postal officer. His hobbies include golfing, fly fishing, hunting and music/TV. He has 2 blue heeler dogs named Petey and Cosmo, 2 cats Bosco and Emmy, a sinagaw parrot named Otis. Andy is married to Denise with 3 kids, Dana Caine, and Jill.

Tristan Tolley
Tristan began working for Yellowstone Valley Vet at Skyview Veterinary Hospital in December of 2007.  He transferred to Shiloh in November of 2008.  We are very happy to have Tristan as an awesome asset to our team.  Tristan has three dogs; Medalia a mutt, Hugo a pittbull mix, Bismark a pitbull mix, three cats; Hercules, Gidget and Thistle and a rabbit named Toby.  Tristan is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana but moved to Montana in 2005.  Tristan enjoys playing video games, swimming, soccer and spending time with his pets.

Paula Rice

When I graduated from West High, I wanted to become a veterinarian. Instead, I got married and had two daughters (who are now married and too busy to have children). I worked my own business for thirty years and decided that’s enough. After a short retirement, I got this job. I hope I can “do good” for the company. My hobby is motorcycle trips to all places. We are very happy to have Paula join our SVH team. She has been an excellent asset!

Josh Delao
Josh began working with us in October 2009. He is currently going to school at the College of Technology to become a fire fighter. In his spare time he enjoys hunting with his hounds, camping and snowmobiling. Josh loves working at Shiloh.

Kristen Trowbridge
Kristen was a CNA prior to coming to work at Shiloh. She decided to change up her life to work with animals. It has been a lifelong dream of hers to be a part of helping animals on a daily basis. Kristen has 3 dogs (Heuey, Sage, and Haas) and 1 cat (Kloe). Since the age of 8 she has wanted a mini pot belly pig. Running, riding horses, biking and fishing are some of her favorite things to do.

 

Spice… She has gone to pet heaven after a long bout with kidney failure.

 

Groomer

Kendra Wold, Pet Stylist
Kendra was born and raised in MT. She has worked in the animal field since 2000. She has had her hands in every part of the animal business and now is learning to groom. Animals are her passion. Kendra enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. She is thankful to be with us.
