VETERINARIANS

Hal Leonard, DVM

Ken Podkonjak, DVM
I have a unique feature - 95% of our clients do not even attempt to say my last name.  To all, I am just Dr. Ken.  My last name, Podkonjak, is of Slavic decent and means “under horse”.  As a Veterinary school graduate, my early career found me often underneath a sick horse.

I was Red Lodge born and raised; worked as a firefighter and smokejumper to pay my way through 12 years of college at the University of Montana and Washington State University.  I have a BS in Animal Biology and a DVM degree from Washington State University.  My special interests are internal medicine, surgery and dermatology.  I have a long term involvement in human fitness.  My family and I live near Red Lodge and own a private fitness club.  We enjoy our rescue animals and all the local wildlife that seem to take up residence there.

Lucinda Young, DVM
I am originally from Wyoming, where I received my bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming.  I went to veterinary school at Colorado State University.  I have three wonderful little boys that keep me busy at home.  We enjoy football, horseback riding and rodeoing.

VETERINARY TECHNICIANS/ASSISTANTS

Kristin Sherwood, Supervisor
Talk about a true Montana Gal, born and raised for 29 years in Billings, MT. I have been working for MLVH for 6½ years as a veterinary technician. I have recently discovered a new passion within the discipline of Physical Therapy in which I plan to study; progressing forward with the expansion of Moore Lane Vet. Not only does my passion for animal medicine exists in my professional career but extends into my personal life as well. I have two St Bernards, Bailey and Tonka; my Heinz 97 mutt, Allie; two parrots, Keegan and Diva; a cat, Cozmo; and last but not least my turtle, Sheldon. When we get a day off the dogs and I love to fish, camp, hike, be with my family and play tug of war. When the dogs do not get to play, I enjoy golf, trapshooting, hunting and riding my bike. So in a nutshell I love to be with my pets and anything outdoors and rugged.

Since then I have acquired two St. Bernard’s; Minnie 2 years and Griz 6 years as well as a yorkie, Bubba 6 years and a Chihuahua, Mia 10 months. I am married to Joshua Ford. I enjoy going to the dog park with my dogs, along with many other hobbies. KENNEL ATTENDANTS

Ashley Ward, Supervisor
Hello! I’m the gal who is always whistling and has a skip in her step! I was born and raised in the backwoods of Minnesota before I moved here to the Red Lodge/Billings area. I am very fortunate, for I have been working for Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital since August, 2009 as the Kennel Supervisor. My family consists of my boyfriend, our three cats; Nekro, Tiki and Tweakelton; and a Siberian Husky, Stoli. If I’m not fostering animals in need; I love to travel, hike, run the river with my pal Buddy the Pitbull, as well as spending time with my friends and family. I plan to further my career in the veterinary field and within Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital. I love being able to spend my days helping owners and their pets live happy, healthy lives together!!

David Stidham
My name is Dave and I love animals and music. Working at the vet has taught me a ton and increased my love for animals 10 fold. Outside of work I try to play music with friends and spend time with my brothers. I don’t currently have any pets but hope one will adopt me soon.
